Salkehatchie Founder is Guest Speaker at Service Blitz
John Wesley Culp will be the guest speaker at the Columbia Service Blitz on Saturday, February 4, 2012. Culp is the founder of the Salkehatchie Summer Service, a youth missions program for high school and college aged youth. The program consists of a number of work camps for SC United Methodist Youth. During the camps, youth work to physically improve the homes of needy families in SC and form lasting friendships with each other.
Culp's other accomplishments include being awarded the Order of the Palmetto, the highest civilian award given by the Governor and State; the Michael C. Watson Volunteer Mission Award; SC Christian Action Service Award; and Distinguished Alumnus Award of USC.
He is currently the Minister at Virginia Wingard Memorial United Methodist Church here in Columbia.
