About Dallas/Fort Worth, TX

As North Texas prepares to host Super Bowl XLV - community leaders, schools, churches and organizations are uniting together to participate in the 4th Annual Souper Bowl of Caring in Dallas/Fort Worth set for January 14th-February 6th, 2011.

Join the Souper Bowl of Caring DFW Team and help us tackle hunger in North Texas, where the need has never been greater. According to the North Texas Food Bank and Tarrant Area Food Bank:
  • 57% of North Texas Food Bank clients and 52% of Tarrant Area Food Bank clients have to choose between paying for food or paying for utilities
  • The North Texas Food Bank provides emergency food assistance to an estimated 64,000 people in any given week-- an 80 percent increase from 2006
  • In the 13-county region served by Tarrant Area Food Bank more than one-third (43%) of those served are children (under age 18)
  • 1 in 8 residents have sought food aid from the Tarrant Area Food Bank’s network of partner charities during the past year
