A gnawing feeling in the stomach. Light-headedness. Dizziness. Headaches. Lethargy or weakness. Inability to concentrate. A craving for food. Pain. All of these are associated with hunger.
According to a report released in January 2010, more than 100,000 people in the 18 counties served by Second Harvest North Florida are experiencing very low food security or hunger. An estimated 31,400 people receive emergency food assistance each week from a food pantry, soup kitchen, or other agency served by Second Harvest North Florida.
