Food and funds are often depleted after the busy holiday season and Souper Bowl of Caring is a simple way to give back during a crucial time for food banks, soup kitchens and meal programs.

Our grocery partners, Central Market, H-E-B, Kroger, Mi Tienda and Randalls have teamed up with us to make giving simple. Look for the Souper Bowl of Caring display to buy prepackaged food items or make a cash donation at the register. 100% of in-store donations directly benefit local-hunger relief charities including the Houston Food Bank and their partner agencies in 18 counties. In addition, Souper Bowl of Caring is proud to work with several area food banks including: Brazos Valley Food Bank, Galveston County Food Bank and Montgomery County Food Bank who help us #TackleHunger in Greater Houston.

About Houston Food Bank

The Houston Food Bank is a solution to both hunger and food waste. In the year following Hurricane Harvey the Food Bank distributed 122 million nutritious meals through its network of 1,500 community partners, including food pantries, soup kitchens, social service providers, and schools in southeast Texas. We distribute fresh produce, meat and nonperishables from our warehouse at 535 Portwall, where we also prepare nutritious hot meals for kids in our new state-of-the-art Keegan Kitchen. We work with grocery stores and growers to rescue food before it reaches landfills with a focus on fresh healthy food. Additional community services include nutrition education and SNAP application assistance. We feed hungry people in our 18-county service area alongside our partner food banks in Montgomery County, Galveston and Brazos Valley. The Houston Food Bank, founded in 1982, is a certified member of Feeding America, the nation’s food bank network, with a four-star rating from Charity Navigator. Donate to Souper Bowl of Caring

One of the fundamentals of Souper Bowl of Caring is 100% of everything collected by our participants is donated directly to the charity of their choice. Because of this, we rely on donations from caring people like you to help us continue our mission. Every donation helps Souper Bowl of Caring empower youth, unite communities and generate food and resources at a critical time of year when charities are reporting a decrease in volunteers and donations. A donation to Souper Bowl of Caring is an investment: For every $1 you donate, $30 is generated for charities in local communities across the country.
